Bio

Kiiola is a Toronto-based singer-songwriter, keyboardist, and music educator from Akita, Japan. Her music blends folk, pop, and jazz with the soul of Japan, creating a distinctive cross-cultural sound. After performing in Tokyo’s professional a cappella scene, she moved to Canada to study contemporary music. From 2007 to 2012, she hosted the award-winning radio show Japanese Musiquest, broadcast nationwide across Canada. Since relocating to Toronto, she has collaborated with JUNO-winning artists including guitarist Donné Roberts. She has also performed Japan’s national anthem solo at the Ricoh Woodbine Mile (2018–2019, TSN broadcast). Her 2020 release Inori introduced authentic Japanese folk melodies to Canadian audiences.
